try to post some log (may be dmesg) or try to remove and install ffox again...

i uninstalled Firefox and installed it again still have the same problem, and i haven't installed gnome. when i open Firefox through terminal i get this

(process:6980): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

(firefox:6980): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::sm-connect after class was initialised

(firefox:6980): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::show-crash-dialog after class was initialised

(firefox:6980): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::display after class was initialised

(firefox:6980): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::default-icon after class was initialised

but it still opens and runs fine. it seems when i open through the web browser or just open Firefox it wont work.

Did you follow the links above? Did you purged or only removed ffox?

Hi,

Just make /home/ping/.gnome2/accels like this:

mkdir -p /home/ping/.gnome2/accels

And see if you need to set group permission on that file. But before playing with permissions, try to run firefox as usual.

firefox &

Good luck.

he can do that as root which is fine.

the problem here is you have tried to install both gnome and KDE and messed up the packages. you need to purge both and back to XFCE. then we can help you further.

in the meantime install chrome.

Sorry ostendali (correct me if I wrong) but if he has created root user is normal that when he start ffox with default user he has some error "/home/ping/.gnome2/accels': Permission denied"... root is another user
