I have tried every option for scanning and every time it freezes it doesn't matter what I do. can any one help me?

Yes i checked... you are right, it hangs.
Should be something like this (Just pasting everything, sorry but i can't do a finer problem isolation):

Guys, confirm you have the same issue.

P.S. ping, you can either look into your ~/.xsession-errors or start w3af from the terminal... and see if you have a similar error in output.
