user authentication failure

i just installed backbox, went to the splash screen for the first time and it said authentication failure.  so i went and created another user with password and still have the authentication failure.....

what do i do now?  i am new to linux, thought i would try out this distribution and bam, problems from the get go......

i need help.....

mmm rlly strange ... are u sure u've installed the correct keyboard layout ?

and try reset password or bloc maiusc  :o
