I followed the steps, leaving out the 64 bit line,  but it looks like I'm still on Linux 3.13 after a reboot

I'm trying the steps again.  I think I had a typo

Thanks

Today, following the manual upgrade procedure, I checked to see where I'm at.
It seems that I am still at Backbox 4.1 running Linux kernel 3.13..
No 3.16 anywhere...
There were no error messages during the install except for the linux-signed-image-generic-lts-utopic message (which has been explained).

The manual upgrade was performed over the net. I'll have to go to my local library to download an ISO image and try again... my max at speed at home is 1.2Mb/s over DSL ,    :-(

I had the same problem then I re input the command line that has "linux-signed-image-generic-lts-utopic" at the end but left that part off and 3.16 loaded fine.  I think if any part of the command errors out it doesn't run the whole line.  Let me know
