Dos promt style screen after sitting a while?

I fell a sleep and left my pc on and it went into a dose prompt style screen leaving me to reboot any ideas at the very bottom it said a bunch of f's and a 8.

And what now ? After reboot some issue ?

No its running fine now great but if left alone for a very long time it goes into a command prompt style screen that will not let you exit only forcing reboot is this right or no is this suspose to happen?

that is hardware issue, you are having hardware failure after while system running....
that is what exactly ffffffff8 means.

check your coredump file to troubleshoot, it might be disk, ram or cpu....probably cpu over hitting....
