Hi guys,

I have a little problem... I've tried reaver and i'd liked to fakeauth with aireplay...

So i've tried a fakeauth via aireplay, but had the "channel -1" problem...

I've tried with airodump with channel "X", but nothing... Aireplay has always channel -1...

I've tried to set the channel with airmon and iwconfig but with no success...

mon0 is always on channel -1 in aireplay...

Can anybody help me?

Thanks

Ananke

Hi.
Have you ever patched your drivers?
If you don't know how to, follow these guide: http://wiki.backbox.org/index.php/Compat-wireless_aircrack_patched

If you have solved, change the topic title by adding  to the end "[SOLVED]" .

Hi, i would like to report an incompatibility issue in the guide ! : Upgrading the kernel to 2.6.39 and installing Compat-wireless V3.3 will not work ! ! cause V3.3 is only compatible with Kernel 3 ! and looking at the injection results here , is not very encouraging !
16:29:41  mon0 channel: 9
16:29:41  Trying broadcast probe requests...
16:29:41  Injection is working!
16:29:42  Found 5 APs

16:29:42  Trying directed probe requests...
16:29:42  00:09:5B:5C:CD:2A - channel: 11 - 'NETGEAR'
16:29:48  0/30: 0%
16:29:48  00:14:BF:A8:65:AC - channel: 9 - 'title'
16:29:54  0/30: 0%
16:29:54  00:14:6C:7E:40:80 - channel: 9 - 'teddy'
16:29:55  Ping (min/avg/max): 2.763ms/4.190ms/8.159ms
16:29:55  27/30: 90%
16:29:55  00:C0:49:E2:C4:39 - channel: 11 - 'mossy'
16:30:01  0/30: 0%
16:30:01  00:0F:66:C3:14:4E - channel: 9 - 'tupper'
16:30:07  0/30: 0%

4 AP out of 5 are 0/30: 0%   !!!!

SOLUTION :

Right Drivers :    http://linuxwireless.org/download/compat-wireless-2.6/compat-wireless-2011-07-14.tar.bz2
Right patch  :    http://www.backtrack-linux.org/2.6.39.patches.tar

 ;) i hope this help  ;)
Ps: i am sure pinching the patch from backtrack repository might upset some ppl in here, sorry i mean no offense , but in the long-run, is the solution, i could have uploaded the patch to some file hosting site, but i think its right that you know before hand where it comes from.
Greetings :D

That is not correct at all, we have tested and the v3 of compat drivers works lovely with the diff kernel version.....
Just notice that before releasing any wiki we try plenty times on different platform, so pls keep following the wiki where you will have no issues....

We do not support and/or recommend any external repo's such as backtrack as suggested....

I had this issue with the compat drivers upon initian Bbox install & the wiki fixed it in a matter of like 2 minutes. I went crazy untill I found the answer on the Wiki, now I hit the Wiki before anything   ;D
