Hi everybody,

I am trying to create a USB key with the following features:
- FULL install of backbox (NO-LIVE installation)
- Encrypted OS and SWAP partition
- Bootable on both BIOS and EFI

Tha objective is to be able to plug the USB key in any laptop and boot backbox.

So far I've been only able to fully install backbox on an encrypted partition of a USB key that is only bootable on BIOS loaders (I use a macbook and I need to boot backbox from the USB key into the macbook pro as well).

Does anybody know how can I achieve that?

Thank you in advance,

J

Hi,

I tested once that with MAC, and it was nightmare to get boot. Why? MAC hardware is "issue". You need to play with grub settings to boot in first place, and after to get all working you will spend even more time. I don't remember what and how i edited grub, but i just followed errors i got and found solution from dear friend "google". And this search tip can help "how to boot ubutnu 14.04 from usb on mac" and question like this.

Good luck.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*
