I have installed BackBox on my laptop an wanted to connect the laptop with a second screen, which has the size 1920 x 1080. But when I choose this size, I cannot really see anything on the screen, because it flickers.

But on the screen on my laptop, everything works find.

How to solve this problem?

Hi,

Google is your best friend in situation like this, search for "How To Setup Dual Monitor". Just add your laptop model. With provided info we can't help you more.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

What information do you need to help me?

The resolution of the laptop is 1280x800, on my second screen 1920x1080. I want that the output is only on my second (bigger) screen.

I tried to set it up with arandr, but that does not help.

Edit: On the laptop, there was Windows Vista erlier. With Windows Vista, it worked without any problems.

Edit 2: The maximum resolution, where the screen of the laptop is black and the bigger screen is working properly, is 1280x720. Are there any other settings I can change, so I can get a bigger resolution for my second screen  ??? ??? ???

Like I said, there is no way we can do your job:

And that was found after 30sec of googling. Many others shared their solutions as well.
