Will BB3 be updateable to 3.01 and newer versions like Ubuntu?

Now that I read the News message in the upper left corner...

News: BackBox Linux 3.01 coming soon...

Will it be possible to update current BB3 to 3.01?
Will it be possible to update BB3 to newer versions (than 3.01) as it is based on Ubuntu or is a new clean install advised (if installed permanently on a notebook)

It is all possible, yes....
We usually recommend to run fresh install of major release (version 1, 2 3, and so on) and run dist-upgrade for relative minor releases (example from version 3.0 to 3.01.....3.05 and so on).
