Hi all, i'm new here and i need some help.
On my Laptopt(Lenovo z50) i already have a partitio with window 8.1 end one with the last version of ubuntu. The first is for fun (gaming/film etc) the second is in case i have to work from home. I want to install BB using usb pen-drive. I already created it, but i cannot start my laptop using USB device. On UEFI option i have window, ubuntu, and two IP configuration(IPV 4 and IPV6).
When i try to enter in UEFI change setting and run from USB device i receive a message that there is no USB bootlable device.
How can i do? Any suggest?
Thanks a lot

Are both fast start and secure boot off?  Did you use a usb that has an efi partition table?  I seem to remember that making things easier.  How did you make the usb?  I'd suggest using rufus and it's EFI setting, dont remember exactly what the choice is in the dropdown and I'm not on windows atm.  If those don't do anything or you need more help lemme know.  I also seem to remember that installing rEFInd made efi dual booting so much easier, but theres a bit of manual installation and configuration, which can get a bit hairy when dealing with boot managers.  if you go that route, have a usb with grub rescue on hand in case you bork the bootloader so you arent totally screwed.

Hi,

From what i can see, your USB will never boot, because it's not bootable. Check this instruction and try again:

https://forum.backbox.org/howtos/build-bootable-(installation)-usb-with-dd/

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

Hi again,

If you are in point to learn how to install Linux, you will need some time before you can get something interesting from one pentesting distro. But you can try for sure many others use BBox as daily system. Anyway, Linux don't care what system was before on your USB or HDD etc..
