[SOLVED] Trying to setup a pentest lab with vmplayer

I'm starting to pull my hair out now!

I'm trying to set-up a winxp machine using vmplayer which i installed successfully but i can not get the winxp guest machine to connect to the net and i cannot ping it from the host.

I have tried all sorts, changing the network type on vmplayer i.e. host-only, bridged and NAT nothing changes.

In the network connection on the winxp guest machine there is a local area connection that is firewalled and that is it.

I'm obviously using backbox as the host and i connect through wifi

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi,

Just set vmware machine to use "bridged" and you are done. I never had issue with that.
