[SOLVED] sources.list

Hi! I've got some struggles with the system recently, when I've installed katoolin in order to use some kali tools on Box. Katoolin has added some additional repository sources in sources.list, then a few repositories have been installed so it has messed up my system. Currently grub is from kali, I can't access certain folders and cannot see anymore other partitions. Can somebody share a healthy sources.list file so I could try to restore my system to it's almost initial state?

P.S. Is there another way to restore box and to not lose all my installed apps? It's kinda messy to update manually all those necessary libraries...

Hi,

Fresh install is best solution. You did use debain and ubuntu as source and you can not go back from that. Backup and install again. I don't see why you need to use other repository, when all modern tools can be installed from github.

Well, I've been looking for pixiedust, but sadly box has only the outdated packages needed for it. I don't know why but I couldn't update them, too many errors, that's why I decided to go on an alternative way. Is there a way to save installed apps so I won't be supposed to waste more time on reinstall?

I wrote before about this kind of tools: https://forum.backbox.org/software-support/pixiewps-wps-pin-not-found!/, but I guess you didn't search and check, anyway. This is PoC (proof of concept) tool and most of the time it will never get update. Why? Hacker find issue and a lot of manufacturer will fix it in next few months, it's hard to find vulnerable rooter for this kinf of attack today.

I don't have time right now to test installation part but from what I can see there no reason that it will not work, only if tool nned old packages but that is another story.
