I have installed the newest release of Backbox on my Laptop twice, but I can't login!
Backbox should be the only operating system. I installed it on a clear harddisk and let the installer make the partitioning. I selected the encryption for the user data. After the installation finished successfully and the Laptop has done a reboot, I am not available to login with my username. There only appears a short black screen for 2 seconds with some data (like on shutting down / booting the system) and then the login appears again. But it doesn't tell me that my password is wrong or something else...

Please help me :(

I can only login with the guest account, but not with the account I have chosen while the installation procedure.

Hi, check your keyboard settings (layout) when you install system. Watch this video, will help you https://vid.me/W3r, and when you set this then run installation.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

thanks, but that doesn't help me :(
When I install Backbox, i choose the right language in the installer. And after the installation process, I have to reboot - all changes before the reboot will get lost.
And when I try to login the first time, it isn't possible - although I DON'T use any additional characters for my password.

Pls. check this vmware installation video, maybe you will get some idea from it:

Just don't check install option "Download updates when installing", you can do that after and installation will take less time.

thank you very much for your quick answer.
I re-installed backbox with the option "Autologin User" and now it works :)
