Sharing porblem

Anyone here knows how share files in backbox as guest OS and windows 8 as host OS in vmware.

what's the problem here? You should be able to simply use shared folders... Search google for that.

Hi Yu54,

You have two simple options.

1. Via SSH
2. Just moving (copy/paste) with vmware tools

To install vmware tools :

sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools open-vm-toolbox

Reboot your vm machine and you are done. You can move files from one to second machine.

For SSH, you need to start ssh from terminal and you need client like puty to connect from your win machine.

Filezilla (ftp over ssh) can also be handy for this purpose.

I already did but all the solutions I tried not working.

I did what you said but still not able to share folder and when I try to drag files I got this.
