Hello backbox users, im just having two small problems..
1. Are there some way to use backbox in full screen, 1920x1080p? The maximum resolution I can use are 1024x768, are there any ways to fix this? (Useing Oracle VM virtualbox)

2. The mousepointer feels kind of slow, or laggy and it just dont feel right.. It's hard to explain but there is a delay in backbox if you compare to windows 7 or any other OS.

Thanks everyone!  :)

Hi
VirtualBox does not know much, because I use vmware, but I've seen that you can install the Guest Addition from the Devices menu, then you must mount the CD/DVD after downloading and then the screen should be set automatically, or check under the menu Machine.

Thanks for the reply, I did install the guest addition but the maximum resolution I can switch to is 1280x960.. would be greater with 1920x1080..
By the way, do you use vmware "workbench"? Is it easier to use fullHD there?

Thanks again,

I use vmware "workstation" version 7.5 "old", but it works great.

No Problem

You have to go under the VM menu and click on Install VMware tools. the DVD will appear on your desktop, you must open it, then drag to the desktop the targz and untar it. Open a terminal and type the following command: sudo python vmware-install.pl

then reboot

sry for my bad English

bye

Hey authorized you should try the premade Virtual Box image by these guys. They made one for the new Backbox 2 and it has Guest tools and everything already installed. I use it on virtualBox and it worked flawless. I have 1920 x 1080 resolution on my 23 inch HP monitor right from the start. Just remember the user name and password for the image are

username/password: adminuser/adminuser
Root Password: adminuser   ------>   This info is on the linked page as well.

Here's the link to the page which has the download for the .VDI file
