I am a recent convert to BackBox (two days) after getting fed up with so many bugs in BackTrack. My problem is that the screen dimming function with power management is reversed. On battery power, the screen is constantly dimmed, but after the specified time of inactivity it brightens. The reverse of what I want it to do. All of the settings are correct, except the percentage of dimming resets to 20% regardless of where I set it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Go to main menu, then Settings>Settings Manager>Desktop etc.. You can set all what you want from Settings Manager.

Cheers !

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

Thanks. I have set everything from there, but still have the problem. During my internet hunt for the answer, I have come to the conclusion that this may be a hardware problem. Thank you for the reply. Other than this minor annoyance, I am loving Backbox. And the forums are friendlier than Back|Track's too.

Hi,

You are welcome, i checked too , and yes it could be hardwer support problem. I googled for you : http://bit.ly/KzCGRq. Some solution can be good or not, it's up to your hardwer. Not sure, but some power issues was fixed in new kernel, try to upgrade : http://wiki.backbox.org/index.php/Kernel_3_with_BackBox. Good luck !

Cheers !
