I am a bit of a linux noob so please bare with me. I have a few problems here:

I cannot figure out how to give myself the option for higher resolutions ( I know my monitor can handle higher than 1024x768)

When I changed the resolution/refresh rate to the highest offered by the display settings configuration menu,  my mouse cursor disappeared.  In order to restore a visible mouse cursor I have to open a video on the movie player (it's the only way I know how to restore it).

I do know that on other linux distros... I would normally use xorg,  but as you prolly know,  there is no xorg.config file.  So I tried to exit the X server and drop into CLI to try to configure xorg... run "gdm stop" and then my screen just starts flickering until i eventually have to power my machine completely off.

Please tell me there is an easier way,  i would really like to start using BackBox with the settings I'd like,  I prefer BackBox to the other pentest distros,  it runs much smoother on my machine and it's not overloaded with tools that i'll never use.

BackBox automatically set the best resolution... Verify the compatibility of your video card.
