Menu Window Does Not Display Correctly

Hi All,

I am new to both Backbox Linux, and XFCE. However, I have been using Linux for many, many years.

I have a strange Window Display issue, that I have not been able to correct. Here is what I mean...

As can be seen here the contents of the Window are not visible. Can anybody help correct this? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Adler,
I reproduced the issue, i get the same.
Main theme should be Albatross, right? I get the same white text in the network tools widnow.
I think these are settings inside the theme, you can't explicitly change them. Anyways if you want you can try to tweak config files for the themes in /usr/share/themes/Albatross, if you can find where text colors are defined.
Have a look on google too... maybe you can find nice suggestions for theme tweaking...

The main theme is Albatross as you said. I will look around to see how to edit the files to correct the issue that I have.

Hi All,

Oops, I broke my system, and had to re-install everything. LOL! I was actually trying to run too many KDE options to try to compile something. This let to too many un-met dependencies.

Sooo, I'm back, and will stay with another theme than Albatross!

Help!

I turned "composter on in Windows Setting, and now my Desktop does not show a full window when - for example - I launch Firefox.

I would try to post a screenshot, but can't. How do I turn "composter" off. I can't access those settings

You are using KDE? BBox using xfce. Because i don't see that option for xfce windows manager.

No, I am not running KDE. But, it seems that KDE Services on Start-up was checked in the launch set-up. Strange...

I did resolve my issue by installing a utility - XFCE4 Composite Editor - from http://www.webupd8.org/2013/06/xfce4-composite-editor-easily-change.html.

I had to uncheck Compositor to get things back to normal. However, I was rather complex to go through all the settings to get application windows opening correctly.
