We can't say much... try checking the md5 digest of the iso to test if it got corrupted during the download:
Code: [Select]
$ md5sum /path/to/backbox.isoand then compare the value you get in the terminal with the one in the BackBox download page. If they differ download it again.
It could also be a problem in the burning process, so you may also want to re-burn and waste another DVD  ;D
Or you can go for a cheaper way, trying to create a bootable USB stick with unetbootin and setting the BIOS accordingly to boot from USB.

Bye.

bool secure = check_paranoia() ? true : false;

Man, did you check the md5 digest of the iso as you were told?
Also "it's not working" means nothing... sice most of us found no problems installing it, you should tell us where the booting stops, if you get some output or you don't even get to the boot loader menu.

Do you have UEFI with some secure boot feature or other hellish thing like that?
If yes you need to remove the secure boot in the configuration screen, but i don't know much about it... you can try to search the web for better informations.

bool secure = check_paranoia() ? true : false;

For that you'll need some search on your own... We can't do your job. You must know your hardware.
Since we don't know if this is the case, you can read something informative like this, but please, read before putting hands on... and do your own research.
Without further details there isn't much we can do.

Have you tried manually selecting which device to boot from ???

I think its F9 or F10 at boot, and then you get a list of boot devices to choose from...
