Hi weVeg,
as I said, I've tried versions from standard repositories, from virtualbox website in deb package and in executable form (yes : choosing AMD64), but it fails.
build-essential, headers and dev environment are OK.
The errors are those indicated above.

We have spent some time with b4d_bl0ck and ostendali onr IRC channel. I had a 3.13 kernel installed : uninstalled it, removed headers, and rebooted on 3.11 original kernel : always same errors.
If you want, I copied all on  http://pastebin.com/BDVMtaps, maybe you'll find something ?
Hi fsoyer,
pay attention that you have intel processor, so even it is 64 bit you make a mistake if you try with AMD64... you need the other one!!
may be, as zerof said, we have a bug!! could be a bug!
I saw your log, but you try to install amd package inside an intel proc. btw, why didn't you try with apt-get install virtualbox?

Really ? On all the distros I worked with (CentOS 5/6, Ubuntu 10 to 14.xx...) it would be the first, and the only, package called "amd64" which is not compatible with this i5... Hard to believe...
To answer to Zerof, if it's a bug that doesn't explain why b4d_bl0ck could install it on his Backbox, same version... Strange isn't it ?

b4d_bl0ck

Well, actually AMD64 is one of the names for the x64 architecture, so it doesn't mean it is for an AMD CPU: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64 and so i think this has nothing to do with the issue.
I guess the problem is a misconfiguration due to the fact that things have gone weird with your latest kernel/headers installation/uninstallations... but i can't figure out what is happening i have not much time right now to help you in debugging. To test you could try with a fresh installation on a separate partition, if possible.
Maybe you can try asking for support on Virtualbox IRC channel or forum, too

Let us know...
Bye.

Yes, finally it seems that this is the last thing to do. I'll test before with a lve CD, just to see...

If you use a live sistem remember that any tools you install will go on ram, so at the next reboot you lose everything!

Hi all,
finally I found some courage and totally re-installed this Backbox. No surprise : Virtualbox works now  8)

Thanks for spent time !

b4d_bl0ck

Nice, i guess the headers mess up was too big to be dealt with... in any case it was an user misconfiguration.
I tagged the tread solved in place of you because it was started by another user. This time you saved some bytes ;)

Have fun with BackBox!
Bye.
