What?

1. I don't see how that is good idea (but you can try to make work with your ubuntu system "good luck")
2. You will spend as much packages need to be uploaded/upadated etc...

Better solution is, if you don't want to use BBox, install just tools you will use, one by one from source.

It is impossible to answer, does not strictly depend on us. You must consider the size of the third-party software and much more ...

it is a bit weird question but I try to answer it if you want:-)

the bandwidth will depend on the amount of packages you are going to download after having added the BB repos. Backbox in total (excluding the core system) has around 600MB of packages. So once you have downloaded the first time, the updates are going to be very small, maybe 1% I'd say....

@deadstar: if you need many years ago someone used to install apt-proxy to caching pkg and resolve the bandwidth issue. So you can take a look to approx or apt-cacher, check it 'cause something could be changed!
