Is anyone else having this problem? After the update it seems to get stuck on the loading screen with the slider, no matter how many times I reboot. I have tried going into recovery and checking for errors or broken packages but still nothing.

Last night I did a fresh installation and it worked fine up until I installed the "244 Updates". After the updates it stopped booting again, only this time instead of getting stuck at the slider part, it went into terminal mode asking me to log in. I logged in and ran "startx" but it threw out an error about graphics. So I installed the graphic drivers via terminal and rebooted and it seemed to work, or so I thought. It got me to the login screen where I typed my password, but no matter how many times I did, it wouldn't log in. It kept looping the log in screen. I tried guest mode which loaded fine but very little I can do with that.

So I restarted the system and went into terminal mode, created a new user and then ran Backbox and now FINALLY it works under the new user.

I have been running BackBox fine for the last couple of months, its only with the recent updates that this has happened. I don't know if anyone can offer any advice or explanation. If it helps I have switchable graphics, not sure if they could have caused the issue although it has been running fine for the last couple of months:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Thames XT/GL [Radeon HD 7600M Series]

Well I have kind of fixed the issue so I thought I'd post a solution for anyone else who may be experiencing the same issue. After a lot of trial and error I discovered the issue was with the graphics card, namely the AMD Radeon. Somehow the driver got corrupted or something after the upgrade.

Long story short if you are unable to boot after an upgrade, go into command line and reinstall your graphic card drivers and reboot. Should load up fine after.
