BackBox does not boot - Apache Server does not start [SOLVED]

Hi all,
serious problem for me, I was playing with my win 7 VM (bbx as main OS) and i got an error that the win7 VM stuck and frozen.
Then i did turn off the VM and tried to close it down.
When i also tried to open firefox in main OS (bbx 3.0) i got  a strange error like firefox was already running somewhere else (maybe still the VM even if it was turned off ..?).
At that point I tried to reboot bbx, but it is impossible, it tells me that apache server did not start and get hanging on the black page with the boot checks (battery check...). It also suggests me to go to etc/.... /... and put YES in some lines but i have no idea how to reach there if cannot boot.

I am really frustrated, I have a lot of info in it and would like to avoid to re-install from scratch bbx, I need to save the data as much as I can.

If it can be of any help here below the errors i get in boot:

Starting ISC DHCP Ipv4 server FAIL
PostgreSQL server failed to start
arpon disabled, adjust your configuration to your needs and then RUN 'yes' in etc/default/arpon to enable it
started VB kernel modules
saned disabled, edit etc/default/saned
starting we server apache2, apache2: could not reliably determine the server fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1 for server name
then, it gets froze on:
checking battery state ....

Hi v3nd3774,
don't worry for your data. As long as it's just a startup problem, your files ar still safe on your HDD.
Anyway, reading the chronology of the events, it could be a conflict with VirtualBox kernel modules at startup, don't know if i'm right.
If you boot from a live system on a USB or disk (maybe the same you installed BackBox from) or if you have another linux distro installed on your PC, you should be able to mount and explore the BackBox filesystem on your HDD, and reach the location in which put "YES" (is it /etc/default/bootlogd -> BOOTLOG_ENABLE=YES to have startup informations? Can you provide the exact message?).

[little OT]  :) This is only a suggestion, and maybe only a personal preference, but it could save you lots of time and troubles. If you have an OS that you are likely to remove or reinstall from time to time (and expecially if you have multiple OS), or you know it's not stable and could fail, you can make your OS run in a little partition, maybe 10GB, and have a big partition in which you store your data and files like books, videos, softwares and so on. In this way if you have problems that you can not solve, you can always install the OS from scratch with no desperation. Another advantage is that you'll have a well defined shared data partition, easily accessible by all the OS you have. Just be sure to format the partition with a filesystem format recognizable by all the OS you are going to install, and use logical partitions if you need more OS.
You should have a thing like this:

but i had to redo from scratch the entire installation.....i did try to navigate up to the point but it seemed very strange and the more i was palying with it, the more issues i was getting...big mess down there....(i am noob do not forget ;-) )

In any case now i have re-installed BBX 3.01 and i am busy now reinstalling vpn's, IRC addresses, shells addresses, VM's and alike...

Tx anyhow, from now on all my data will be also mirrored in external HDD's other than the other OS (12.10).

the next time when it happens again, remember that during the boot time from grub you boot in single mode, which an emergency shell, and from the shell you can manage, fix whatever root cause is to your problem.
