Will Backbox 3.09 have a newer kernel? and if you update, will it upgrade?

I have two questions,

BackBox 3.05 uses the 3.2.0 kernel, when 3.09 is released, and users try to upgrade their system from 3.05 to 3.09, will it upgrade their kernel to some newer kernel? like are the staff of backbox thinking about the kernel-upgrade? and this might screw some things up...  ::)

and when we try to update 3.05 to 3.09, will our bb distro become more lightweight? (like will some packages..etc be removed?)

Hi HodLuM,
as far as i know, developers usually recommend a fresh install, if it's in your possibilities. That way you will be sure to run the latest stock version, with appropriate tools and configurations...
Upgrading via terminal from the old version can also be done, but most of the times this could be messy, due to the huge amount of updates and installations/uninstallations.

I don't know if they are going to include a newer kernel but, if you are interested in upgrading it now, you can follow -> this wiki entry <-.
It's just a matter of an apt-get install, but remember not to remove the old one for the first times, in case something goes wrong.

See you...
