H!,
Whenever an update to a tool like Metasploit,SET are available, I noticed update size match the size of fresh installation of those tools. Like i recently updated metasploit & the size was around 280 odd & SET tool update size was around 80 odd. So how does this all work  ?
Is the tool itself replaced in the repository ? Is this the way all Ubuntu based distros work ?
Since my background is windows i'm asking this out of Curiosity. I think it would be nice to install a small update pack when new features are added to the tool.

Thanks.

Hi,

I think that you don't see how updates works ?Sorry if this not your issue, but ... BBox team make package for new tool version, then when you run update && upgrade this will remove old version from your system and install new one. If rapid7 etc team make basic updates and you run update this will not reinstall tool it will just add new payloads to your system etc ...

Cheers !

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
