I know that's hard to find this fix on the net! Also searching on bbox forum is useless waste of time and resources !
Fortunately zerof give us the way! https://forum.backbox.org/howtos/upgrade-aircrack-ng-to-version-1-2-beta2-with-libnltrue/
!sarcasm is on the air!

Hi, this is BackBox support forum and not Ubuntu forum. But ..

BackBox is made to support most WiFi adapters and not Ubuntu. You need to find backports package for your kernel version and install them, that is Ubuntu solution.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

Did you try to load good module:

sudo modprobe ath9k

?

If this don't work you don't have good kernel/backports and you will need look up for other version (even older) that will work with your settings/hardware.

Without log, error output, lsmod, dmesg, step by step done and more we can't help you!
Tell us what did you do and report us the error... Step by step means: "I downloaded foo from bar, typed foobar, and the error is barfoo...."
