Hi all loving the forum so far, i am an extreme noob switching from windows as have decided to leave video editing for a while and start trying to learn something that really interests me, my only questions are, am i to much of a noob to learn here, will this distro be ok for me to learn or should i start somewhere easier as have been slated on other places ie BT for being a noob and lastly is there any good links for complete beginners, thanks for you time, oh and am i to old (29) :) to start learning

That depends in what you are interested, but i suggest first begining learning linux bash commands and a programming language.
If you don't know which language to choose i would suggest ruby, cause it's an easy language but powerfull too.
http://www.ruby-lang.org/
And here is a good beginning for it : http://tryruby.org/levels/1/challenges/0
