Hello,

I like how these forums are way kinder over the BT Forums.
Although, I'd like to point out that seeing the huge amount of Italian posts makes me (as a native Dutch speaker) feel unwelcome.
Therefor my 2 cents would be to move the italian posts to a sub-section of these forums. By doing this I think you'll more easily gain new members to these forums as they won't be confronted with Italian posts right away. As the management team of BackBox is Italian (right) I'd recommend to not ban the language from the forums. It's kinda BackBox's heritage and one should honor that.

Again, my two cents. Let me hear your thoughts.

hi there,
the language has always been hot topic in our forum, we are not banning any language thread but we will ban if the original lang of each thread being interfered with other langs....

However, we will evaluate your proposal.

Everybody is welcome in this community but the majority of italian doesn't speak english, so, I can't see any reason of why we should be avoiding such issue. The same is valid for other languages as well. Fortunately we are living in democracy yet....

The forum official lang is english and I don't thing there will be any change on this.

Feel free to comment out but pls navigate through the old threads before opening new one, you will find out plenty thread with exact same question of yours.

ciao!

I've searched the forums. But I didn't get a satisfying answer, and I didn't feel like Necroposting.

I don't know if this is default in Firefox, but in Chrome you can just right click and "translate page to English" to read the Italian posts. It will still be a LITTLE wordy, but for the most part it's easy to understand.

As for what should be done about the intense divide in languages used here? I suggest encouraging correct spelling and grammar. That way, translations will come out correct (if the translator doesn't recognize a word because it's misspelled, it won't be able to translate it), and it will also be able to rearrange the sentences properly.

We have the tools are our disposal to talk plainly to our different-tongued brothers, so we should use them instead of raising it as a true issue.
...Having said that, having two separate forums based on language is readily possible if someone wanted to do that. But I like having the information from both nationalities in one place(after all I can just right-click translate the page to read it!).

There's my 2 cents on the matter.

Happy Hacking.

I've had my posts deleted for no apparent reason, which deters me from wanting to provide any information on this forum.

Anyways, if your post is not going to be in English, just put in [IT] for Italian at the end of the title.

HI naisanza,

We didn't remove your post (s) we moved site to new server and bacause small problems with old hosting provider, we have lost some topics, but that is all.

When we remove posts, it's because they are against rules and have nothing with BackBox community.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

yep, unfortunately our old ISP provider did migration of some servers and the one where our web site is located too, during this migration they have lost all data updated starting from 30th of November 2012....

The reason for we are also migrated our web site on a dedicated VPS.

Apologize for this inconvenience!
