BT is dying. They have virtually NO support for the users. The forums are full of moderators suffering from delusion of grandeur. BT 5 is a complete disaster.

I am looking forward to using BB. I hope the community grows fast and overtakes BT.

Dying? More like dead! They are so rude over there. I can't help but wonder why they haven't been shut down.

The thread is old, but I think I have something to contribute.

BackTrack is still a solid distribution when you get it to work. I wouldn't say running its name through the ground in zealous glee is particularly good sportsmanship; and probably not accurate. I've not seen much reason to think that it's actually losing support, though, because it seems like they have a good, intense strategy going with Offensive Security.

However, BackBox, I feel is an effective competitor in the security distro market. It uses an evidently friendlier approach(and forum), and it cuts out a lot of redundancy in its tools. This is so effective in my opinion, because it lets people with ideas to get them out there quickly, not being bogged down by requiring a brutally vast well of Linux mastery to use it. It's also new, and hasn't been through what BackTrack has been through in terms of development.

....though I have to say Cosmetically I like BackTrack....Backbox seems like it has an actual better approach.
