I have read about the founder of backbox in a section of Wikipedia , famous hacker, you have my esteem..

I was wondering if people really capable ..those that use head , if they joined the most capable, they could change the world, unite a common objective which is not only to develop alternative software microsoft , but improve the world in practice ,aid africa and help the oppressed peoples , teach others less talented and make something big
you should think more big ..
there is something wrong because the people Hackers that I respect a lot at high levels is lost in order to gain money..Instead you could do a lot more , really change the world and develop better technologies.
create a city technological self-managed 'where protect hackers oppressed create an alternative government .. which works for the benefit of all

if i'm right devs are working on an ARM version of BackBox, but i guess not everything from upstream is ARM compatible and things need to be heavily tested, so it will take time.
Anyways you probably know the dSploit project, it may be worthy to try on a smartphone.

About the second part of your question i can say that this is more a political matter. I agree with you, hackers should not be limited to the technological/technical field.
IMHO hackers are hackers in every aspect of life, so they should try to fight for society which puts in the first place human needs, against every form of oppression and exploitation, in the same way they fight for a free and unoppressed idea of technology in the computer field. A this point one should start asking what the term oppression means, who are the oppressed and how to act.
But i think these matters are better discussed in political organizations places, here it would be inappropriate  ;)

Hackers are free minds and therefore may cross the boundaries and limits to decide whether to change them or make them worse
