yup. working good so far. i got backbox 4 running on a 64x laptop. Been runnign it for about 2 weeks.

i had mint and windows dual booted before installing backbox.
only sad part was i wanted to put it over the mint and keep the windows, but i accidently deleted both in the progress and now backbox is my main OS.  :-\

No worryies though, cuz i was gonna replace windows anyways, just didnt get to back up my stuff.

running backbox 4 on my acer ao531h and loving it. everyday use and everything works perfectly. have
'nix experience, but still learning security concepts. currently struggling to get the wpa2 hack. hard to
find a complete sop/how2 on the subject. really something small like that i would love to do so i can test my
own router.

anyway the bbx4 everyday use is very nice and stable. i can't see why not/

now i use it , with vmware runs windows , but Back Box is so so so ugly !!!
and the number of tools is less than kali or backtrack , it really trouble me ,
such as i can't find burpsuite in B Box

dwarf

Well, I assume that burp suite is missing because it's not an open source software, nor it is free (except the trial version, but who would pack a trial version into a distro as a default?)

Ugliness depends on your personal taste, can't say anything about that except the fact, that I don't consider Backbox ugly. To me, Kali is what I would call ugly (to be honest, Kali is ugly as s*it in its default, and whenever I tried to change that, sooner or later, the system became unstable - but that could be my fault).

There are less tools in backbox, that's true, but I guess it shouldn't be a problem to install whatever you want to. But I agree, in next update, there could be more tools.

But hey, that's just me, I love Backbox and sometimes I'm sitting at my laptop being like:"Damn, I love this linux!".

I agree with u , as a destop system , i want it not ugly...  as backtrack , most people think it's cool and easily to use ,

Hi All,

I just completely wiped everything, and did a new install of BackBox 4.0. I just dropped in my saved / stored files. All works well.

I run VirtualBox for Microsoft 7, and VMWare for an OS (X) system.

I am not a security guy, but like the idea, that I can drop into TOR, etc. I did buy the book, which I never read.

I do like this distro. http://www.jjmacey.net, http://www.jjmacey.net/blog

And, will stay with it for the next few years!
