Since there was no such program listed in this distro and I found it to be awsome in BT5, well I needed to found a way to import it so to speak..

Do this

First you need to download the backtrack key

Code:
sudo wget http://all.repository.backtrack-linux.org/backtrack.gpg

Then you need to add this key

Code:
sudo apt-key add backtrack.gpg

Ok, then you need to add the backtrack repository to sources.list

Use your favorite editor, for this example I'll give nano some love

Quote
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

At the bottom of the list, add this following lines to your file

Code:
#backtrack
deb http://all.repository.backtrack-linux.org revolution main microverse non-free testing

ok, your done, to save and close the file in nano  do CTRL+O then CTRL+X

Next we need to update

Quote
sudo apt-get update

ok, now to install gerix

Quote
sudo apt-get install gerix-wifi-cracker-ng

You will find it under the meny other (ps. the gerix.py needs root access)

Happy hunting

Thanks for your kind suggestion....but if you want to mess up your distro, be my guest.
However, we do not recommend, neither support, the external repo out of BB.

Happy Hacking!

ostendali Smiley Polite but straight to the point

DO NOT USE OTHER DISTRO PPA'S

1) they have different setups and configurations
2) importing and using other distros ppa will corupt your distro
3) learn how to find tools and configure them to be use properly in backbox

git clone https://github.com/TigerSecurity/gerix-wifi-cracker.git

as mentioned by r083rt, don't use the BT5 repo, you will mess up a lot!

I moved away from BT5, exactly about their stupidness (& pseudo-l33tness) creating everything by themselves - even BT5 has tons of more tools, which no
one ever uses, because at one point you are just overloaded with tools, doing more or less the same!!

I'm currently creating some sub-folder structure in my BackBox installation, where I keep all tool sources, which are not installed by default
and I think are of great value. This source folders starting with git- or svn- and some simple bash magic will keep them up-to-date. In my private
tool folder, I just use symbol-links to those tools.
I'm thinking about creating some git-repo on my public server for other backbox folks, just drop me a PN if you are interested!

THAT'S why I'm in love with BackBox ;-)....keep going dev folks and don't get crazy about 'tooz&feature requests' - at the end what counts:
quality and not mass of tools!

..so long, zerohat!
