thanks but go get your own conversation nubbix..

Im sure he knows what he needs to do if there is no patch supported by air-crack

Yea according to  air-crack and it says it doesn't support injection oh well life's a bitch !!

Yet SOME people have claim to get it working whether this is the case I do not know Unless someone has
created a patch oh well it was worth a bash !!!!! I would prefer to try than just  accept defeat
while it says its not support hey Id rather sees if there was a patch or a way around it...

go and buy a pci-e or usb wifi sorry for your troubles

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll need the netbook for a few days for something more serious. After that, I'll look into the matter a bit more.

I have the following ideas:
1) Update the BackBox installation, perhaps that will give me a newer version of the brcmsmac driver
2) Try getting an old Netgear WPN111 USB adapter to work
3) Check whether the WLAN mini PCI card can be replaced with another model.

Sure, I could another buy USB card which is known to work, but hey, we want to solve the problem, not buy ourselves out of it.

Hi klaus5,

This is not that big problem if you check our friend google ...http://www.anonimus.re.rs/6558. Have fun and good hacking.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

Hi ZEROF,

please explain what you are referring to. What is not that big a problem?

As stated before, both the original WLAN driver "brcmsmac" and after some wrestling the "STA driver (wl)" work on my system.
The problem is that neither of them works in monitor mode, the "wl" driver is known not to be supported by the aircrack-ng suite at all, the "brcmsmac" driver pretends it works, but airodumg-ng doesn't pick up any data packets.

The article you quote treats a case where someone does not pick up wireless networks with his 4311 chipset (this thread is about the 4313 chip) and manages to get the "STA" driver installed.

How does that relate to my problem of finding a working driver that is supported by the aircrack-ng suite?

ZEROF

My wrong then. Go to PC shop take one adapter, and have good time.
