Hi, i have had this problem for some time now, and each time it happens i just reboot my laptop, and it's auto-connecting again. But after some time it seems like it drops the connection for no reason, and i have to reboot again.

What i wonder is, where do i find my network connection settings, so i just can connect like in Ubuntu? It seems lie Backbox doesn't have any option for that?

And also, how can i figure out or diagnose for whatever reason that is causing the wifi to disconnect?

Thanks in advance?

So many thnigs can make this issue, but most of the time you will have this issue because of drivers etc.

Try to set mtu to 1400 or 1500, because default is "Automatic" (http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/centos-rhel-redhat-fedora-debian-linux-mtu-size/).

You maybe have enabled N standard on your wifi, and that need to be disabled.

Etc...

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*

the default kernel module used for your wifi device is not the correct one, it is probably the same chipset but slightly different device version, which is a common issue.

So the steps you need to take are:
- identify your wifi device first
- find the module that is used by
- get the correct drivers for your device
- blacklist the default kernel module
- self compile the correct drivers
- load the module of newly compiled driver

good luck

PS: next time when you need a similar help, pls beforehand provide the full details of the first 2 steps above listed...if you want somebody help you that is the correct way to begin and then ask help.
