Hello All

I just installed BackBox 4.7 on my HDD. According to BackBox website, it is based on Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus). But my version is based on Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr).

How do I upgrade my distro based on Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus)?

$ cat /etc/*release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=14.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=trusty
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS"
NAME="Ubuntu"
VERSION="14.04.5 LTS, Trusty Tahr"
ID=ubuntu
ID_LIKE=debian
PRETTY_NAME="Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS"
VERSION_ID="14.04"
HOME_URL="http://www.ubuntu.com/"
SUPPORT_URL="http://help.ubuntu.com/"
BUG_REPORT_URL="http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/"

Hi,

Only few things comes from ubuntu 16.04, like kernel support. But base is 14.04 LTS for now. Will be changed in the future.

Don't ask, read : http://wiki.backbox.org
or just run sudo rm -rf /*
